CAD/CAM software compatible with our machines
SEGMAG CNC machines work with the main design (CAD) and machining (CAM) packages used today. We develop post-processors for a wide range of CAD/CAM systems, so integration between the customer’s software and the CNC is simple and efficient.
Our post-processors are built around each machine, CNC control and manufacturing process, delivering code that is suitable and optimised for each job. That reduces manual edits and supports safer, more accurate and more efficient machining.
What is a CAD/CAM system?
Simply put, CAD/CAM is the software set used to design a part and prepare it for machining. CAD creates the drawing or model on the computer. CAM uses that model to define how the part will be made, calculating the toolpaths the cutting tools should follow.
What is a post-processor?
Simply put, a post-processor is a “translator” between CAD/CAM software and the CNC machine. The CAM software creates toolpaths and operations; the post-processor turns that into the code the machine’s specific control can understand and run.
